I am super excited for this Vendor Highlight as Briana and I have become great friends over the past 4 years. We met by 'accident' while being contacted for a shoot in 2011. To this day I still call her Bri-AH-NA... and its really Bri-AN-NA... I just can't help it! Since then.. we have done countless photoshoots, weddings and events together and she is the hair ying to my makeup yang. She has always impressed and wowed her clients with her professionalism, her ease of giving the client exactly what she wants, and her hairstyles are always on point. She will forever be my go to hair girl and I am proud to finally highlight her.
How and when did you get started in Hair Styling?
I've always had a niche for hair ever since I was young. My mom told me she would buy me Barbies, and the first thing I would do is take it out of the box and change it's hair because I didn't like it. That obviously grew into doing friends' hair for parties, events, & proms. I couldn't wait to go to beauty school after high-school to get my actual training. I completed my education at a Paul Mitchell partner school in 2005 and have been continuously growing my craft and love for hair ever since.
I know you can do just about anything when it comes to hair.. but what is your favorite part?
It's hard to choose a favorite because I like to do it all so I can see the complete look, but if I had to choose I'd say cutting and styling.
Most Memorable client?
All of my clients are memorable but it's when I hear them say things like, "you are truly talented," "you always make me feel so beautiful," or from a new client that says, "this is the best haircut I've had in 20 years." Those are the things that reassure me that I'm doing what I'm suppose to do.
When did you start doing Bridal/Wedding hair styles?
Well I've always done updos and styling, but I remember when my first bride asked me to do their hair for their wedding day. I was shocked and honored at the same time. To this day, it's such a great feeling when people ask me to be a part of their special day.
What do you think the trend for Bridal hair this year is?
I'm still seeing a lot of brides incorporate soft braids as well as getting more creative with hair jewelry choices.
What else should we know about you?
I absolutely love to travel so doing hair for destination weddings are not off of my agenda!
